Who Is Nourish Counseling?

How a Little Girl Became a Counselor

It began in middle school. Her peers were participating in self-injurious behaviors, there were thoughts and ideations of homicide or suicide and she thought to herself, “these people need help.”

This thought stemmed into high school when she started asking herself, “Why?” Why do people think the way they do? Why do people behave the way they do? Why do some people think and behave one way, and others don’t? This was when the little girl went off to college to be a psychologist.

When the little psychologist was finishing her degree, she thought she wanted to go to school for Mental Health and Counseling, but it turns out, she wanted to be a social worker. That way she could help people in more ways than one.

Now, with a master’s in social work, this little girl has finally come to the point in her journey where she can help the people who need help.

With a Licensed Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) licensure, I work under the guidance of a supervisor who has had over 3 years of practice in the field.

Nancy Walters, LICSW, assures that I am doing my job correctly so that I may assist my clients in the best form. From consultations to fine details, Nancy supervises me to assure my profession is purely ethical.

Through Nourish Counseling, I believe that everyone deserves a chance to feel heard, validated, appreciated, and respected.
